Artist's Comments
Well, I got a couple of positive comments on my High Contrast Nebula experiment... So this is an extention of that exercise.
This represents one hour of work, most of it in trying to get a wispy feel to the nebula that should hopefully feel a little more hand painted or textured than realistic. Every star is hand placed, in some places it works great, in others the repetition may look a bit artificial, but we'll see what reaction it gets Comments
Really nice piece, but you should add more details!
Try to use a selfmade custom brush(Just paint some streaks that look a bit cloudy, define this as a brush preset, then play with scattering, texture and dualbrushing and stuff) and add dark clouds and so on! The Nebulas' shape isn't really defined! Keep on the good work! -- Please watch my gallery: [link] This will be my funeral for who I once was ~Silent Civilian - Funeral Thanks for the comments.
This wasn't meant to be a particularly detailed piece, but good advice all around. I have a few brushed I plan on working with in the next couple of pieces I do, and will be doing some specific work on dark clouds. -- Member of =Space-Club |

Critiques
This is a definite improvement over the previous one (although it was good, the were sharp areas that didn't quite have the dream like qualities this one possesses). However, both this picture and the previous when visually demonstrate a strong sense of balance. Unlike the last one, though, there is a sense of movement that is both strong and gentle at the same time. This is another reason why it feels so dreamlike.
There is one other thing that needs to be mentioned. You see, I don't have any experience with camera techniques this advanced. For this reason, the type of critique I can offer will have some limitations. Still, this picture is very pretty and mystical. Good job.
